MSF teams last worked in Tunisia in 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic

Between 2012 and 2017, MSF worked with vulnerable communities, including refugees, in the south. In 2021, our teams responded to the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

Following an explosion of COVID-19 cases, we returned to Tunisia in July 2021, where we supported a field hospital in Beja Governorate, in the country’s west, with patient treatment and improving oxygen capacity.

Our teams helped transfer patients between health facilities and provided training to prepare staff in case of a new wave of COVID-19. We also supported the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 vaccination campaign in Beja and in Manouba governorates.
