MSF first worked in China in 1989 and last worked in the country in 2014.

MSF teams in mainland China have responded to natural disasters, including floods and earthquakes.

Until 2014, we also supported local HIV treatment programmes in Yunnan province, including for people with tuberculosis and hepatitis C co-infections.

In February 2020, at the very start of the COVID-19 outbreak, our teams sent specialised medical equipment to support staff at a hospital in Hubei province.
