In February 2016, MSF started working in the general rural hospital in Thi As Sufal district, Ibb governorate, Yemen. Previously the hospital was not functioning due to financial difficulties but today, MSF provides life-saving health services there. There are 429,000 people in the cachment area, including displaced people who have fled Taiz governorate.
MSF teams work in the emergency room, inpatient ward and operating theatre, and support the maternity and outpatient departments with medications and equipment. MSF also manages laboratory and physiotherapy services, and the x-ray department. Mental health support will start in 2017.
