In 2022, MSF worked in Latvia for the first time, assisting people held in the  Mucenieki and Daugavpils immigration detention centres. We provided psychological and psychosocial support, as well as hygiene kits, food, items such as books, board games and stationery, and some financial aid.

Following a lack of unrestricted access to patients by authorities that would allow us to treat them in line with medical ethics, we closed our activities in December 2022.
