MSF worked in Malta between 2008 and 2010.

MSF worked in Malta between 2008 and 2010, providing medical and psychological care to migrants and asylum seekers in centres.

In 2009, MSF withdrew from the detention centres after attempting to push authorities to improve their conditions, which were resulting in people contracting respiratory infections. Later in 2009, we resumed work in the Takandja detention centre. MSF left Malta in 2010 as conditions improved and less people were arriving in the country.
