There are currently over 200,000 Syrian refugees in Iraqi Kurdistan, with over 90,000 in Erbil province. MSF opened projects in Kawargosk camp in September 2013 and Darashakran camp in March 2014, providing primary healthcare and mental health services. Over 70,000 primary health consultations have been conducted as well as over 600 mental health consultations. In October 2014 MSF handed over its primary health activities in Darashakran and is in the process of handing over its primary health activities in Kawargosk. MSF will continue to provide mental health services in both camps.
