Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is deeply concerned for the safety and whereabouts of Dr Mohammed Obeid, an MSF orthopaedic surgeon who was sheltering and working in Kamal Adwan hospital, north Gaza, whom we have lost contact with since the afternoon of 25 October.
The hospital and its surroundings have been subjected to intense military operations by Israeli forces, and recent media reports indicate that several medical staff were detained on the morning of 26 October. We are trying to get in touch with our colleague and are urgently seeking information about his whereabouts.
We call for his safety and protection, as we do for all medical staff in Gaza.
