In aftermath of war, MSF's medical work still sorely needed

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) continues to provide medical care to migrants, internally displaced persons, and prisoners in the Libyan cities of Tripoli and Misrata. MSF teams are also running a mental health program after many months of violence in the country.
MSF expects mental health needs to increase over the next few months, with levels remaining high over the long term. According to MSF, only an early, focused treatment strategy will help prevent war-related trauma from becoming generally prevalent and therefore more difficult to treat. In Cairo, violent clashes have concentrated around Tahrir Square, where the situation remains tense. Egyptian volunteers are working in field hospitals to provide medical care to the wounded.

After three-month siege in Libya, trauma surgery and training dominate MSF activities

MSF has begun working with Libyan medical teams at the advanced medical posts set up close to the front lines to stabilize the wounded before transferring them to a hospital... During lunch breaks, one MSF surgeon, using a USB stick containing extensive information and videos, demonstrated how he had provided initial trauma management and organize surgical treatment to an audience of approximately 40 Kasr Ahmed hospital staff, including surgeons, doctors, anesthetists and medical students. Open letter concerning civilians fleeing Libya for Europe

Member States of the European Union, and especially those directly involved in the conflict, must now turn words into actions regarding the protection of civilians in Libya. Their non-refoulement, decent reception conditions for all and access to asylum procedures for those who request it must be guaranteed.
