We set up the MSF Access Campaign in 1999 to push for access to, and the development of, life-saving and life-prolonging medicines, diagnostic tests and vaccines for people in our programmes and beyond.

Thousands flee as rebels advance on Goma

As a rebel advance reaches the outskirts of Goma, the provincial capital of North Kivu province in the Democratic Republic of Congo, tens of thousands of people have fled, leaving villages and displaced persons camps empty. Around 60,000 people – many of whom had previously been displaced – fled Kanyaruchinya camp, where MSF is working, in panic. Statement - 20 Nov 2012

Dr Martial Ledecq is a surgeon who is just back in Belgium from a one-month mission in one of the four makeshift medical facilities set up by MSF in the north of Syria. MSF is providing emergency and surgical treatment for the wounded, as well as medical care for people displaced from their homes within Syria and for refugees who have escaped to neighbouring countries. 90,000 deprived of care due to violence

Escalating violence has forced MSF to suspend medical services in two out of three of its facilities in Pibor county in Jonglei state, South Sudan, leaving up to 90,000 people deprived of essential medical care. Two months of operations

MSF has been working in Syria for the past two months, trying to provide humanitarian assistance to people affected by the conflict. With the help of a group of Syrian doctors, a team was able to turn an empty house into an emergency hospital in six days.
