MSF delivers medical supplies to hospitals and relief items to displaced families from East Aleppo

MSF emergency team in Idlib governorate continues visiting the villages receiving larger numbers of internal displaced people (IDP) families, to assess the needs of new arrivals from east Aleppo. As a result, 128 families were supported with NFI (non-food items) kits including hygiene and winter kits. Besides, our medical teams keep monitoring situation in the main hospitals receiving evacuated wounded from east Aleppo. Since the beginning of the intervention on 15 December, at least 23 m3 (cubic meters) of medicines and medical materials have been delivered to those hospitals to support their stocks. About 200 patients evacuated from east Aleppo have been so far referred to Turkey to be treated there and other 800 have been hospitalized in health facilities of the Idlib and Aleppo governorates. We understand that the needs of those patients that required urgent hospitalization have already been met. The majority of the people who have been evacuated are scattered in about 18 villages of the countryside towards the West of east Aleppo. MSF is ensuring that there are no gaps in the assistance provided to the IDPs and that the response is on time.
