Video: Healthcare for refugees at Elliniko camp in Athens, Greece

About 3,500 people, mostly Afghan, have been living for months in the Ellinko camp in Athens, Greece, sheltering at an old airport terminal and two Olympic stadiums which are no longer in use. Humanitarian organisations here are the only ones providing healthcare to refugees. This includes mental healthcare for large numbers of people suffering from anxiety and depression.

Supporting the Greek health authorities, MSF also conducted a vaccination campaign for children 6 weeks to 15 years of age. Children were immunised against six childhood diseases: measles, tetanus, pertussis, influenza, polio, hepatitis B and certain forms of pneumonia.
